Jehova-Jireh

Well, the Lord has provided yet again, but in a very very very roundabout way.

The whole week of packing up our lives in Athens, Georgia, I had been sick. Fever, night sweats, the whole sha-bang. I also got very little to no sleep. The night before the big move, I woke up and began reading my Bible about Abraham and how he moved, settled, and then moved again. I thought to myself what an odd passage. Little did I know it would be prophetic.

We pull into Lexington, cars loaded, Uhaul ready to be unpacked to find an apartment FULL of mold and mildew. On the walls, the ceilings, floor... everywhere. And since it was a Sunday... over Memorial Day weekend.... there was no apartment manager in sight. And there were no other apartment rental offices open. So we kept everything packed and spent the night in a hotel. That night was spent in prayer and the Lord confirming that he was taking care of us in both the short and long term, though we thought this was rather difficult.

Next morning, by some miracle, we get to meet with a lady who works at Mount Tabor apartments. She comes in on her day off to show us an apartment that is move in ready (just what we need). We enter her office to hear Andy Stanley preaching on the radio on God's providence. A small hallelujah leaped from our chests when she showed us the apartment, our new home.  Everything was unloaded in one morning by Nick's family just before the rain came. We spent the rest of the day with his family and the next with my sister, Cathy. It was hard saying good-bye to our families, our past comfortable lives, and our home state, but the Lord pulled through yet again for us, like we knew He would.

So now we have a week to unpack before my next big adventure of entering the "real world" and starting my job as a new nurse on the Neurology ICU. I'm excited and scared, but the Lord will provide.

Packing

We're packing up everything, and I mean everything. We're loading up on Friday and heading out to Lexington, KY on Sunday. A little scary, but still fun. I'm glad I'm doing this with my best friend. :)   We'll have a whole new city to explore, people to meet, and memories to make. I'm looking forward to what the Lord has planned for us. But now, back to packing. :)

Our First Blog :)

Nick and I are currently sitting on the couch, doing what we do best...watching a movie, a Denzel movie actually. Neither of us are very good at journaling, but I want to get started. Start something new. We're having a lot of new starts... new last name, new marriage, new life together, new hamster. We love it. I figure a blog is another good new start.

Here's a glimpse into our lives today: bank, school, study, nursing small groups and assessments, construction site, and pork chops. Those are just the highlights. :)

Well, Denzel is tracking down some terrorists, and so I must go...
